Female artiste Karole Kasitais was disgruntled after receiving way less than what she anticipated in her royalties.
The ‘Balance’ artiste was paid Shs20,000 after two years from one bar which played her music.
“If one bar is paying this annually, how many bars do we have in Uganda? How much money is collected and why am I receiving 20k on my end after 2 years? We need answers!?” the artiste queried on social media.
This comes after a heated up debate regarding copyright law in the Ugandan industry where musicians are complaining about not getting their fair share.
It is because of the copyright law among others some Ugandan artistes including Karole Kasita formed a federation called the Uganda National Musicians Federation.
