What now appears as a battle between the two musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso has also manifested between the event’s promoters behind the two highly anticipated concerts.
Events organizer Balaam Barugahara of Balaam Marketing and Promotions Agency has expressed his discontent with his counterpart in the business Abby Musinguzi alias Abitex of Abitex Promotions for staging a concert on the same day as him.
Abitex Promotions is the event organizer behind Alien Skin’s “Sitya Danger Concert” slated to take place at Freedom City Mall in Namasuba along Entebbe Road. In addition, Balaam Marketing and Promotions Agency is spearheading Pallaso’s “Love Fest” concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala. Both shows will happen this Friday, June 9, 2023.
In an interview with Spark TV, Balaam said it is unfortunate that Abitex who also doubles as the President of the Uganda National Promoters Federation decided to compete with him (Balaam), the Vice President by organizing a show. However, they have an agenda as a federation to streamline the industry by not competing against each other. Balaam noted that one of them is likely to make losses.
The gentleman who is known for his love of orange polo shirts also explained that it had just been a few months since Abitex organized an event at the same venue where lives were lost in an unfortunate stampede incident.
“Abitex is our father in the events industry but he does not learn, fails to grow, and does not fear losses,” said Balaam
He also explained that it is disadvantageous to organise many shows at the same time because it does not build an industry.
“We used to do this in the past. I thought we had moved past that level and were heading to a better one of making money, giving others respect, allowing others to work, and vice versa” – said Balam. I wish him good luck. Let him come to the battle,” Balaam said.
Alien Skin’s concert was announced and confirmed on Monday, June 5, in a press conference held by the “Sitya Danger” hitmaker. Pallaso’s show was announced almost a year ago and preparations kicked off a couple of weeks ago. The announcement of Alien Skin’s concert happened just a week after a misunderstanding that arose between the two on Monday, May which29, prompted one (Pallaso) to beat up the other (Alien Skin) as he demanded respect.
