Fresh details surrounding the occurrence of musician Patrick Mulwana alias Alien Skin’s concert that happened on Friday 9, June have emerged.
Big Talent Entertainment boss Edirisa Musuuza popularly known as Eddy Kenzo has revealed that events promoters Balaam Barugahara and Abby Musinguzi alias Abitex were both behind Alien Skin’s show. The musician who also doubles as the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation accused the two promoters of making a plot that made the musicians battle against each other.
Eddy Kenzo explained that he had made an effort to reach out to Pallaso and Alien Skin upon learning about their misunderstandings. He mentioned that he spoke to Pallaso and encouraged him to apologise for his actions. Kenzo further noted that his efforts to speak to Alien Skin, however, were futile and in a few days heard an announcement of the “Sitya danger” hitmaker’s show.
“That was not something right because Pallaso had spent months announcing his show. I attended his show knowing that he had spent a lot of money. Why would someone organise a parallel show within five days?” said Kenzo while speaking to journalists on Saturday.
The UNMF President’s efforts to get in touch with the promoters behind Alien Skin’s concert led him to find out that the parallel concert had been orchestrated by both Balaam and Abitex.
“Someone told me that Abitex called Balaam on phone and discussed staging a show. These words came from very close to the duo and in the presence of over 30 musicians who can be my witnesses,” Kenzo revealed.
He further narrated that in an effort to ascertain the allegations, Abitex, Balaam and the informer were put on a conference call during which Abitex accused Balaam of discussing the business but Balaam ended the call abruptly.
Kenzo called upon the promoters to come out and clarify to Ugandans about this matter. He stated that they even had intentions as the federation to stop Alien Skin’s concert by writing to the Police citing the breach of rules made by promoters themselves.
Alien Skin and Pallaso faced off last week as they held their concerts on the same day, but luckily attracted enough fans to both of them at Freedom City Mall and Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala respectively.
