Winnie Nwagi a-no-show at the Ice cream and Cake festival

Revellers at the Ice Cream and Cake Festival

The fourth edition of the Kampala Ice Cream and Cake Festival happened on Sunday at Uganda Museum with everything promised coming to life.

Before the event, it was advertised that there would be different types of ice cream and cakes to cater to both kids and adults. That came to pass as several outlets exhibited what they had to offer during the family day event.

Revelers had the opportunity of tasting as many cake and ice cream flavours as they could.

The event kicked off at 10 am with ice cream and cake producers and sellers in one place in a street food style festival. It offered everything from ice cream bowls, queen cakes, muffins, and ice lollies among others.

The organizers were then asked if all five Swangz Avenue artists would perform as advertised.

Azawi, Vinka, Zafaran, and Elijah Kitaka were all at the museum but Winnie Nwagi wasn’t.

Despite her absence, the record label was fully represented as revelers enjoyed performances by the four artistes.

Elijah performed songs like ‘Nothing’ and ‘Ndiwuwo’, Zafaran ‘Ankuba’ and ‘Jeguli’, Vinka ‘Thank God’, and ‘Bailando’ among others.

Azawi who was the most looked out for artiste didn’t disappoint as she took revellers through a performance they will live to remember. Stepping on stage at 9.14 pm, she performed her hit songs including ‘Slow Dancing’, My Year, Majje and ‘10 over 10’ which kept the audience on their feet throughout her entire 30 minutes on stage.

When performances were done, deejays took over the stage, mixing the audience’s favourite jams till 11:00 pm.
