Crysto Panda turns it up

T he last edition of Crysto Panda’s Panda Turn Up at Lugogo Hockey Grounds last year did not go as expected but this was blamed on the heavy downpour that day.
In a change of strategy, the NTV presenter-cum-artiste decided to shift the first edition of his event this year to Africana People Space, with hope that at least the turn up would be great.

Also celebrating his birthday, Crysto Panda hoped for the best and the clouds were clear despite the rainy season. The singer received around 500 people in attendance throughout the entire show, much more than those who attended the last.
The show that was supposed to start at 10am kicked off at midday with a showcase from different deejays, including Ivan and Miracle as well as Wembley Mo dancers and several emcees as the audience that mostly comprised students walked in. Once inside, some were seen in groups talking while others resorted to taking selfies among others.
The event saw performances from artistes such as Martha Mukisa, Bernie Gunter and Jera Kingdom before Crysto Panda, real name Herbert Kyityamuwesi took over the stage.
His session was so interesting because he came with some dancers who pulled rare strokes during his Empele performance. Those in the audience could not match their skills despite endless efforts.

Immediately he was done, he turned to emceeing his own event and introduced performances from John Blaq before joining Sheebah to do their Kyolina Omanya remix.
It was now 6pm, the time the event was supposed to be done and security was seen telling the organisers to wrap up but before they could, Fik Fameica came through and Crysto Panda was seen bargaining with the security guys to at least let Fameica do two songs.
Those who were leaving rushed back to the stage to enjoy what many considered the crowning of the evening.
Despite the low turn up, the rest of the evening went well. From the performances to the set up and security.
