Mbarara dance crews have joined their efforts and organized a concert dubbed ‘Heart of a Dancer’ to showcase their work. They will use the proceeds to support fellow young dancers with school fees.
According to Mark Tukamushaba alias Mark T Dances, the goal of organizing the ‘Heart of a Dancer’ concert is to raise funds for school fees for young dancers.
“Some of our dancers have failed to provide themselves with some of the basics like school fees, and advanced studio production for their work. However, they use a lot of energy on stage with fewer returns, so we decided to do this charity concert to support them,” said Mark T Dances.
He added, “We want to invest the money we get from the concert into education because all of us here want to study, we want to use our talent to achieve our goals.”
Apostle John, a gospel singer, says they have prepared enough to make the concert a success, and he believes this is the time for local dancers to showcase the world, citing that the Western art industry needs more creative dancers.
This second edition concert which will take place on May 28, 2023, Sunday at Daystar Cathedral Mbarara will headline several local dance crews including Sabura Kids dance crew, Icebreakers, and 24/7 dance crew, also local gospel artistes like Peterson Ma, Best Emily, Apostle John, Ticky Ug, Isaac Tee, Julie Sokies among others.
