After seventeen years of doing music together, the Kenyan music singing group Sauti Sol could be on the verge of breaking up.
The group that consists of Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno, and Savara Mudigi has announced a world tour before taking an indefinite hiatus.
“We are excited to announce that Sauti Sol, Africa’s sensational musical powerhouse, will embark on an exhilarating tour stopping in 5 cities across the US, followed by 10 stops in Europe and 4 stops in Canada before taking an indefinite hiatus,” reads part of a document that was released on their official social media handles.
Among the cities and countries they will be performing at include Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, Oslo, Paris, London, Berlin, Toronto, and Vancouver, among others.
The document added that this is a celebration of their remarkable journey, filled with excitement for the future and a testament to the enduring bond of friendship and partnership built over 20 years in the industry.
While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter, it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol.
“As close friends and business partners, the band members Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno, and Savara Mudigi are eager to explore fresh creative avenues and embark on personal endeavors. However, their friendship and shared vision will continue to be the driving force behind their future projects.”
The group has been releasing singles for about a year now and that might have prompted the said hiatus that is coming.
