After their escapades in the first movie Nick (Sandler) and Audrey (Aniston) now run a private detective agency. However, the agency has a perception problem. Not many people believe they are credible detectives. When their friend, the Maharajah, aka Vik (Akhtar) invites them to his private island for his wedding to Claudette (Laurent), they figure that being at the event will lend them the credibility they need, and say yes to the invitation. However, it is not all wedding bells and festivities when they get there. The couple is soon pulled into solving a mysterious murder and abduction. That is Murder Mystery 2 in a tiny nutshell.

The movie is funny enough, with the twists and turns lending to the comedy. Sandler and Aniston have proved to us that they have good chemisty for this type of movie (see the first Murder Mystery and Just Go With It for reference), and they have it here too. The story is interesting and uncomplicated, making it the perfect choice if you have had a long day and want to unwind with a quick entertainment that will not get you too wired. The cast is a mix and match of recognisable actors who treat their roles with the seriousness and silliness they deserve. No complaints there.

That said, you will not help feeling like the movie could have been better. It almost feels like the movie was depending on the star power, which works for it.
