Proscovia Musoke, the mother of popular Ugandan musicians Jose Chameleone, Pallaso and Weasel has come out to defend her sons for ‘kissing’ in public.
During his Gwanga Mujje concert at Cricket Oval, Kampala last month, Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja and his brother Weasel, real name Douglas Mayanja were seen pecking on stage, stirring social media as some of their followers questioned their sexuality amid raging debate on homosexuality in the country.
Pictures and videos haunted the two until the Forever singer was forced to post a public apology, saying it was out of excitement that they pecked and that they never intended to offend the public.
According to their mother, the incident was blown out of proportion.
“That’s his brother. I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s just that people saw it through an African cutlure lens,” Musoke told journalists recently.

Besides that, she also said she is ready to meet Pastor Martin Ssempa who dragged the two bother to police over the incident.
“I don’t have a problem with that. He is an old man, I respect him, and he is a man of God,” she said.
Pastor Ssempa had earlier said he filed a complaint at police so the law enforcement agency could probe the incident.
“Chameleone and his brother were seen kissing each other… this thing is against God’s command and the order of logic. We are asking the police to investigate this issue. Why is he kissing his brother? Why are they dancing like a man and a woman? Children are watching this all over the country on social media and so we are saying we don’t want this to happen really,” Pr Ssempa said.
