Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo.
Eddy Kenzo has received a nomination in the Jamaican music awards in the category of best afro beats entertainer.
Kenzo, the only Ugandan in this category will be competing alongside Burna Boy and Tems from Nigeria, Diamond Platinumz from Tanzania and Willy Paul from Kenya.
Under the theme Reggae Rise, the 40th Anniversary of IRAWMA (International Reggae and World Music Awards) will take place on 7th, May, 2023 in Kingston, Jamaica.
He broke the news of this achievement on his social media platforms on Saturday.
“Thank you at #IRAWMA Jamaica, see you soon.” he posted.
The nominees are in 32 categories and can be got on the event organiser’s website at www.irawma.com.
This marks the third nomination for Kenzo in these awards, the first coming in 2014 in the category of “Best African Song/Entertainer,” the second coming in 2018 for “Best African Entertainer” which he won and then this year’s nomination.
