Clothes are some of the prized posessions Ugandan artistes have and last week, one lucky campuser, only known as Osbert, walked home with a Balenciaga jacket from artiste Ykee Benda during his performance.
Ykee Benda was the headlining artiste at Makerere University Business School and asked if anyone in the audience could sing his song Teacher word for word.
Osbert got on stage, grabbed the microphone from him and did both Ykee Benda and Fik Fameica’s verses, even though he messed up some words. Ykee Benda first hesitated to surrender the outfit but the crowd forced him to. “This is an expensive jacket. I bought it at Shs500,000. I wanted someone to sing the jam word for word but I cannot break my promise, so you win it,” the artiste said as he surrendered the leather off-white jacket.
