Paul Ssaaka to commemorate 33 years of writing music

Music teacher and composer Paul Ssaaka

Music teacher and composer Paul Ssaaka will on June 11, 2023, celebrate 33 years of writing school music in Uganda in an event dubbed ‘33 years of Paul Ssaaka’.

The event which will happen at Serena hotel is expected to be graced by top officials from the Buganda Kingdom and prominent entertainers like Andrew Benon Kibuuka, and Mesach Semakula who is also in studio redoing Ssaaka’s ‘Munsi Eno Okozemuki’ song, among others.

The dinner was first organized for April 3, 2020, but had to be postponed after the outbreak of Covid 19.

Paul Ssaaka is popular for being a music tutor and composer for schools like Buddo Secondary School, Mumsa high school, Kings College Buddo, St. Balikuddembe, and Janaan schools among others.

He is the brain behind ‘Jubireewo’ by all school stars, ‘Ntambula Ngaludde’, ‘Uganda Ekula Lya Africa’, ‘Lukeberwa’, ‘Maaso Moogi’, and ‘Emitima Gya Baganda’ among others.

Some of the popular songs that Paul Saaka is renowned for include ‘Uganda Yange’, ‘Oli Maaso Moogi’, and ‘Mutebi Oli Mpologoma’.

Mr. Paul Ssaaka has also worked as a music tutor, composer, and songwriter for different schools including St Paul SS Lweza, Choir trainer at Winston Standard S.S, Kisugu Junior School.
