Navio advised on Elly Wamala song

Navio

Eddy Kenzo was criticised after his rendition of Philly Bongole Lutaya’s ‘Born In Africa’ but at the same time, Navio has been hailed for his cover of Elly Wamala’s song titled ‘Hamadi’.

Navio re-did the classic a few weeks ago and the track is already climbing charts. But the question is, what did Navio do right on this particular song that perhaps some artistes have failed to do on other classics? Well, the Ngalo artiste opened up that the song would not have been as successful if it was not for the intervention of the late singer’s family.

“I wanted to include Luganda in some verses of the song but Elly Wamala’s family were against it,” said Navio in an interview. “They advised me to be who I am. To be Navio and I did exactly that.”

And because he listened, now he is reaping with the song on replay.
