Budding neo-soul Ugandan singer and songwriter, Laura Atyang has reportedly signed a deal with one of the top production houses, Maestro studios.
Atyang a yet to-be celebrated song-bird with several songs written to her name will be getting an opportunity to announce herself in Uganda’s alternative space given an artistic and financial commitment extended to her by Maestro.
The Amina Eong Ijo singer whose lyrics mirrors Uganda’s indigenous sound has been recently trading as a live band cover artiste whilst recording a couple of singles and an album.
Shabba Serunkuma, the brand manager of Maestro studios said the company is fulfilling its promise by becoming a fully-fledged events, production and marketing concierge by integrating talented artistes who can carry the Ugandan music flag beyond boarders.

According to him, the company is looking forward to be an end-to-end production house, offering the best entertainment solutions in the pearl of Africa and beyond.
Atyang crafted her art from the church choirs, including various music bands and has gone on to master various fusion genres of Afro, Reggea, Soul and Dancehall music.
Born to an Itesot father and Karamojong mother, Atyang grew up in the neighbourhoods of Bugolobi, Kitintale and Mutungo, she studied at Cavendish University Uganda where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with top honours.
She also holds a certificate in Radio and TV broadcast from the Crane Media Institute of Uganda.
Discovering that at the core of her abilities is an authentic indigenous sound that blends and mixes African rhythm with modern sound, vibes and originality into a beauty of an afro-fusion sound loved, one she has claimed as her own.
As an acclaimed Afro-fusion maestro, Atyang started her band career during one of her high school holidays in 2012 with one of Uganda’s leading Reggea band out-fits the Blood Brothers and as a member of the sensational trio the Coconuts, with other members Christine Kaijabwango and Achiro Daphine, Atyang had a fast track to the live music circuit.
From the Blood brothers, Atyang went on to perform with other bands like Magic Horns, Ouma and Friends, Band Cindy, Urban Soul, Bahati Band and most recently the D#Maestroz.
