Drug addiction is one of the career ending vices in Uganda, especially in the entertainment sector and one of the victims is producer Skillz on the Beat, who battled drug addiction for six months.
The former Roby Studios producer behind most of Kent and Flosso as well as Fille’s music, recounts what was perhaps the most difficult moment in his life. “I started abusing drugs jokingly after I was lured by my peers to try it out.
I started losing focus on my dreams in music production, lost friends and my reputation,” narrated the producer. With such challenges, Skillz, real name Erisa Mukisa, made the decision to return to music by starting up Pendo Entertainment Africa, a record label and studio.
