Rapper Navio real name Daniel Kigozi has jumped on the late Elly Wamala’s Hamadi song that identifies exactly what it means to be Ugandan.
When Hamadi was first recorded half a century ago, it was a song that struck a chord with the people of the time due to its uncompromising story telling ability. On the Navio-assisted version, the rapper delivers some real Hip-hop bars without altering the song’s meaning and intention.
Unlike many watered down collaborations that have been made, this one makes no apologies. Elly tells a story of “Hamadi” and Navio tells us his own.
Speaking of production, Aethan music composed the beat with a haunting shift from simplistic melody to a grand opus of clean Hip-Hop sound. Recorded by Baru and filmed by Sasha Vybz of Savy Films. This is the first song playlisted on Navio’s “Vibes Out The East” project.
