Kampala Serena Victoria Hall was one of those places that was filled to capacity on New Year’s Eve as guests made their way to the Countdown Party.

Dubbed the Johnnie Walker NYE Countdown Party, the event saw revellers celebrate the end of 2022 and entering 2023 with music and incredible DJ mixes. There were no artiste performances as only deejays took matters in their hands.

As usual, Fenon Events gave the venue a facelift with different light rays that brought out a nightclub vibe with an elected deejay booth mounted in the centre, giving it a vantage point for all revellers to see what was happening.

Hosted by Timothy Code, the festivities kicked off at 7pm with DJ mixes from Kampala turntable favourites; DJ Ssese, DJ VX Faisal, DJ Tenyis, DJ Tune and DJ Vanss.

The highlight of the night came towards midnight with Fem DJ taking to the turntables and taking revellers on a journey of musical bliss as they cruised through to 2023.

He kicked off his masterpiece performance with Avicii’s smash hit The Nights, Rain Over Me topping it off with South African Amapiano and of course some  Afro Beats with Kizz Daniels’ Cough and Burna Boy’s Last Last, blowing the roof off Victoria Hall as the clock struck midnight.

But Fem being Fem, the night could not end without a trip down memory lane with Afrigo Band’s Olimujawa and their latest, Party Yani.

The festivities went on until the wee hours of Sunday morning with several DJs taking turns at the turntables.
