Uganda police have issued guidelines for Spice Diana fans expecting to grace her concert on January 13, 2023, inorder to avoid a situation like the one that recently happened at Freedom City.

Speaking to journalists on Monday at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Luke Oweyesigyire the Deputy Spokesperson of Police in the Kampala Metropolitan said the measures are to curb life-threatening incidents likely to happen at the concert.

He said that police learned from the Freedom city stampede and are ready to ensure that it doesn’t repeat.

In order not to repeat the masquerading incidents that happened at the Eddy Kenzo Festival, Luke said that police will only work with bouncers fetched by police. He explained that after the Eddy Kenzo Festival, police found out that those who had been assigned as bouncers turned out to be thieves that traumatised revellers.

He further noted that there must be ambulances and a mobile hospital where casualties will be catered for.

Poor parking will lead to penalties.

Luke also emphasized that children shall not be allowed at the event because performances will end at midnight. He said children’s entertainment programs are supposed to end at 6:00 pm. Spice Diana however said the event has enough space for everyone and the organisers have included space for ‘everyone” including people with special needs.

The Friday concert will be Spice Diana’s concert since her music journey and the first at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
