Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba commonly referred to as MK, has appointed veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda as the official spokesperson of the MK Army/Movement.
MK Army came into force last year when the first son organised national wide birthday parties, with a mega one at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala on April 23, 2022. He was celebrating his 48th birthday.
Since then, many people associated with him have done various mobilisations in the form of parties across the country and it is alleged that the team has an elected leadership.
Frank Gashumba has recently been appearing on radio and TV talk shows introducing himself as the spokesperson of the MK Army/Movement. However, on Thursday, Gen Muhoozi took to his Twitter to announce the appointment of Mwenda as the official spokesperson.
This comes at a time when Gashumba and his socialite daughter Sheila are on the lips of almost every Ugandan following the leaked audio of the former saying that the latter no longer accords him fatherly respect.

In the audio that was leaked and went viral on Wednesday evening, Gashumba is heard telling one Diana that he was disappointed at his own daughter who has over time reportedly shown no respect for him despite all the sacrifices and challenges he has gone through as her father.
Gashumba said he could not believe he had to make an appointment to see the daughter he has always defended in the public at the expense of his own reputation.
In the audio, the social and political commentator also talks about his daughter’s love life which he disapproves of.

Sheila has since come out to defend herself by saying “I know who I am” and has even described the audio as stale.
“An audio that was recorded in September that I only heard yesterday. The funny thing is I was with my dad for lunch yesterday before all this drama happened and I see my dad every two days ever since September and we talk four times a day but now everyone wants to give their advice!” she tweeted.
