Events promoter Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo is still receiving jibes from several people over his recent list of artiste’s worth. After some artistes came out and disputed this list, promoter Suudi Lukwako commonly known as Suudiman has also come out and aired out his disappointment with Bajjo saying that he disagrees with the list.
“As someone who has worked in the music industry for a long time, I strongly disagree with the list of payments due to musicians for performances as propagated by my brother Bajjo,” stated Suudiman.
Suudiman who was previously responsible for bringing Brick and Lace as well as Marlon Asher also added that it is wrong for a promoter to sit in the comfort of their home and rate musician’s worth because it is not up to them as it is not their talent and time.
Suudi furthermore pointed out that during the lockdown, 97% of the promoters didn’t know what singers went through.
“Personally, I witnessed musicians go through tough times; some contemplated suicide. They lived in denial all the time. That’s why I thank my South Sudanese boss and some other friends who helped Ugandan musicians with cars. I will not mention but some female musician paraded a sleek Mercedes Benz and said it had been bought by her manager. If only the public knew the source!”
