Yemi Alade closes 10th edition of Blankets and Wine

Yemi Alade on stage

The last 10th Anniversary edition of Blankets and Wine was nothing but fun, fashion, and real December enjoyments delivered by Nigerian Afro-pop singer, Yemi Alade exceptionally.

The event that happened on Sunday evening was characterized by a lot of activities including games, merry-making, fashion, partying, and performances from Ugandan artistes at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The picnic-themed music festival, which is designed to showcase outstanding musicians across the different genres of afro music did not disappoint.

The highlight of the night was Yemi Alade who took over the stage and gave her fans an energetic 40-minute performance.

Clad in an orange outfit, she performed alongside energetic backup dancers who made it hard to take one’s eyes off the entire performance.

The crowds heartily sang along with her to some of her biggest hit songs like ‘Oh My Gosh’, ‘Mama Africa’, and ‘Kissing‘ as she saved the best for last; Johnny which had everyone grooving along and flashing lighters in the air.

Despite not performing some of her other popular songs, Yemi justified the time she was on stage to interact with the audience, inviting some on stage to do several challenges.

The Blankets and Wine experience kicked off at 2:00 pm amidst the scorching sun with a DJ takeover from DJ Fluid, all the way from Kenya hosted by media personalities, Deedan, Lynda Ddane, and Derrick.

AKA Dope band, Kohen Jaycee, Bero Sings, Wander JR, and the popular Bango star Rickman Manrick took it up earlier.

Away from the performances, organisers, and sponsors like Tusker Malt Lager Gordon’s Pink, Johnnie Walker, and Tusker Premium Cider the main event sponsor, mastered the art of delivering an immersive experience for their audience as the eye-catching hospitality tents had a hive of activities.
