2023 Miss Uganda pageant in reality TV format

Brenda Nanyojo

Miss Uganda has returned and the 2023 edition has come with some big changes including a reality TV format where everything will be screened on Star Times.

This was announced on Wednesday evening at Sheraton Hotel Kampala during the launch of the pageant.

According to the organizer, Brenda Nanyonjo, she decided to go the extra mile in celebration of her tenth anniversary as the organiser of the beauty pageant.

“It has not been an easy ride as you know but what better way to celebrate the milestone than to bring it back to the people who thought Miss Uganda show was only for the high class? That’s why we have decided to get Star Times on board as they will be screening everything,” she said.

Nanyonjo also encouraged people to send in their nieces, daughters, and girlfriends so long as they are between the ages of 18 and 25, not married, motherless, and Ugandan citizens. Those are among many requirements for one to be part of the contestants to vie for the crown.

The press conference was also attended by former queens such as Stella Nantumbwe, Phiona Bizzu, Leah Kalanguka, and the outgoing queen Elizabeth Kagaya, among others.
