Back in the day, especially during the Pearl of Africa Music awards, every winner in different categories used to receive some money. That is no longer the case. With so many awards happening lately, a plaque is the only thing they offer and it is on this background that renowned producer Nessim has come out and urged award organizers to consider adding some monetary rewards besides just plaques.
“I urge these people that nominate us in their awards to give us some money at least. It would make much more sense if you won an award and then some money which could help you buy some machines etc. That would have a positive impact on the industry,” said Nessim.
Not to get him wrong, the former Badi music producer said that being a winner in these awards adds an impact to an artists career especially on the popularity grounds.
