With the failure to have Uganda Musicians Association elections on two previous occasions, Cindy returned to office. Upon her return, she unveiled an interim eexecutive Committee Members that are going to steer the association for the meantime.

In a document that was sent to the sQoop desk, the members on the committee include Hanson Baliruno who is going to act as the Vice President, Allan Toniks as the Youth representative, Ronald Mayinja, the Band representative and advisor, Lord Bitemu as the chief whip and advisor, Grace Nabwami, woman representative, Magala Adrian PWD representative, Dj Kikofira, Kandongokamu representative and Denis Lanek, the religious representative.

Cindy in her capacity as the current UMA president said that there was a leadership vacuum to manage and steer ahead the affairs of the Association.

“As a result of the two failed and cancelled UMA 2022 elections, there was a leadership vacuum to manage and steer the affairs of the association. In line with the constitution and legalities of the association, the pre-current Executive board was reinstated to continue running the administrative affairs of the association till fresh elections are organized,” reads part of the document.

It further states that according to the UMA constitution, article (iv) Duties of officers, section 1 €, it states that “if the chairman deems it necessary he or she may appoint a trial board consisting of 3 or more members of the board to decide any matters involving the rights and duties of the members” and article 3 section 1 (c), it states that “the chairman shall appoint all the committee and shall be an ex-officio member except the election committee.”
