Much as Nyege Nyege is an arts festival, most cynics have probably misunderstood the whole concept of what could be Africa’s best underground music festival.
It is evident that the decision makers and moralists have occasionally alleged that Nyege Nyege is marred with a series of immoral acts, peculiar performances and sensual orgies prompting several attempts to halt the festival.
Just like at any other arts event, Nyege Nyege is a toast to party experience where people enjoy music, dance and other artistic forms. The festival also hosts other attractions such as food and merchandise vending, crafts, performance art, and social or cultural activities.
