Looks like album compilation is the “in thing” these days. Azawi has given us an album, Juliana promises an album and now King Michael has also come out with a 20-track album titled ‘Nsiika’
Michael made this announcement on Thursday afternoon at Cubana in Munyonyo during a press conference where he also announced the release dates of the album listening party.
Comprising songs like ‘Nsiika’ the title track, ‘Njagala Kulaba’, ‘Muliyo Mutya’, ‘Mad Love’, ‘Byadala’, ‘Guarantee’ with Jose Chameleone, ‘Ebulaya’ with Spice Diana, ‘Dalu’ with Weasel, ‘Inkeni’ with Lady Sharia,’ Nalulunji’ ft Sarah Zawedde, ‘Omwana’ ft Mary Bata, ‘Solome, Onumy’ and ‘Mukulike Covid’ among others, he says this body of work has everything you could think of.
“I have called this album the state of the Ugandan music because it has educating, religious and affectionate songs with different genres including Reggae, dancehall, and afrobeat among others,” he says.
Michael further said that he will be celebrating his birthday on the 15th of this month and could only celebrate this milestone with an album listening party to be held at Cubana on that date where all featured artistes will be keeping up appearances and all his friends. “I will not perform on CDs. I will perform with a live band with sound being catered for by Biggie events. I’m currently doing my rehearsals with some of the artists that I hooked up on the album.”
The Nsiika album was initially supposed to have ten tracks but because there was a total shutdown during the pandemic, he added ten more songs.
