During a press conference, Veteran singer Joanita Kawalya stated that the Afrigo Band is now a tourist attraction which is why the organisers of the Buganda Expo have chosen them to be the headlining acts for the event.
“We are now tourist attractions and it is difficult to catch us performing so if you love Afrigo and want to see us perform, this is where to find us,” she said.
Starting August 19, 2022 to August 28, 2022, the expo returns to the Lubiri Expo Grounds, Mu Lubiri e Mengo dubbed Omwoleso Gaggade’ under the theme, ‘Culture is not old fashion, its vintage’ this year, it is not just an Exhibition but also an opportunity for all those interested in knowledge, innovation and development of our motherland.
The Buganda Expo is an annual event on the Buganda calendar whose major role is to orient and introduce the public to the opportunities within the kingdom in order to economically empower them. Its major focus is Tourism, Agriculture, Cooperatives and Research as key areas for sustainable growth.
