In just a few years, the genre known as Amapiano has gone from a local South African trend to an international phenomenon, finding its way onto dance floors across the globe.
South Africans first heard it a decade ago, but over the last two years, it has exploded with international tours, music awards, festivals, and countless playlists.
The decorated genre is hailed as a hybrid of deep house, jazz, and lounge music characterised by synths, airy pads, and wide, percussive bass lines. This is probably one of the many reasons Nexus Lounge has made the Star Saturday night about the Amapiano.
Dubbed Amapiano edition, the night will see DJs Smokes, Blulyt and Queencess Kganya from South Africa take over Nexus Lounge to excite revelers.
Entrance is free but those that want to access the VIP lounge do so at a cost.
