The second edition of the Kabagarame Festival in Kampala went down at the Uganda Museum on Saturday to the excitement of pork lovers.
The popular weekly meat market located along the Mbarara-Ishaka Road in Bushenyi District brought specially prepared meat recipes served in a traditional setting with locally sourced, farm-fresh, organic ingredients.
The pork lovers, most of who came out with their families, indulged in pork in all forms; panfried, roasted and of course the famous kikalayi.
Owen Mwesigye, one of the brains behind the festival, said the concept was developed to bring a cherished meal and experience closer to the city and people. He revealed that they wanted to bring a home-away-from-home experience in Kampala for the people who have been to Kabagarame.
Matilda Babuleka, the Bell Lager brand manager, said Kabagarame is famous for its unmatched meat offerings and they are proud to come on board to let the good times flow.
“Mpola enjoyments as the name suggests is about having fun, but doing so in a laid back way without all the pressure to be in a bar or a club,” she said.
