MasRob, a new entrant on the entertainment scene

It’s been business as usual for the Ugandan music industry ever since the lifting of the lockdown. Events are happening, artistes are performing here and there and event promoters are having events and concerts every other day.

But that is not just it, the process through which artistes get to that stage of staging performances is not an easy one. They have to write or buy already written songs, go to the studio and record them, master them, shoot their video and then promote them. This whole process will see them moving from place to place as only a few can offer the whole process.

Last Saturday evening saw a new entrant on the entertainment scene offering everything an artiste needs for a whole project.

Mr. Robinson Masembe officially launched his events company known as Masrob in a dinner setting with performances at his offices in Bunga.

MasRob Events does a number of activities including, events organization, a recording studio, a rehearsal studio, a stage, sound and lights, band equipment, photography, and décor among other things.

“Our home has everything to make a complete artiste. Once you enter our premises, you will be able to leave with everything you need as an artiste. This is a one-stop centre for entertainment,” Mr. Charles Mbide, the head of marketing at MasRob events.

Why it has taken them long to launch this events company, Mr. Robinson Masembe said Covid was their biggest hindrance.

“I have been in this business for a while now, I should have launched it way back but covid pulled us back a bit. This however gave us time to go to the drawing board and prepare ourselves better,” he said.

He also mentioned the events lined up throughout the year as they are planning a Masrob Tour that will end in a grand finale at Cricket Oval, an independence concert at Serena hotel, and his band concert featuring Kenyan Gospel singers Evelyn Wanjiru and Eve Bahati and Uganda’s Gabbie Ntaate.

There was entertainment from the ‘Let them sing band’ who did mostly covers at the dinner that was majorly attended by the media and well-wishers.

Guests were taken on a tour around the premises before the showdown.

MasRob events started as a small company in Makerere as a decorating company before expanding into events, stage, sound, videography, filming, recording, Masrob TV online, recording studio, makeup studio, etc.
