In the 2021 general elections singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone contested for the Kampala Mayoral post. However, the results didn’t turnout as expected and blamed this failure on Bobi Wine who denied him a NUP ticket.
“Bobi Wine denied me his party ticket for the Kampala Mayoral race,” Chameleone recently said in a video on his social media platforms before saying this failure forced him to return to music. “I decided to return to the music field that I understand best.”
The ‘Valu valu’ artiste however still credits Bobi Wine for having played a vital role in Uganda’s music industry and included him on his list of his favorite Ugandan musicians. On this list he included Eddy Kenzo, David Lutalo, Bebe Cool, Radio and Weasel and Bobi Wine.
