It has always been a tell-tale of escapades for most Ugandan creatives who have for years been getting opportunities to perform for Ugandan communities abroad. With most of them exchanging performances for air tickets and adventure, a new US-based outfit, Uganda American Entertainment has promised hope for Ugandan artistes to earn from their talents.
According to organizers, the Uganda American Entertainment gala which is set to happen in September is keen to see artistes get paid for their creativity. Shamim Tendo the spokesperson of the UAE Gala and Expo explains that this event seeks to give hope to the Ugandan community and Ugandan Artistes.
“Ugandans musicians have for long been victims of poor arrangements by some organisers here in the US. It has been a case of none payment and empty promises but we are here to make things better. We hope to have a few well-facilitated artistes and we will in addition help them to network while here in the United States,” Tendo explains.
Ms. Tendo explained that this year’s event will be graced by musicians such as Kenneth Mugabi, Azawi, Winnie Nwagi, Mathias Walukagga, Chosen Becky, and Vinka. A boat cruise and a grand glamorous dinner also await revellers at the concert.
She noted that the UAE Gala and Expo 2022 is a fun-filled Charity fundraising gala event that will run from Friday 2nd September 2022 to Sunday 4th September 2022 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel.
