Bobi Wine apologizes for not attending Shem’s burial

Bobi Wine.

It is reported that Jose Chameleone was the only artiste who attended the burial of Shem Ssemambo, a renowned marketer who revolutionized the beverage industry and contributed heavily to Uganda’s entertainment industry.

This was considered betrayal from the people in the creatives industry because Ssemambo commonly known as ‘Kagusunda’ contributed to their careers.

People like Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Juliana, and Iryn Namubiru among others were all expected to be there but none showed up.

However, Bobi Wine has apologized for not sending off Shem Ssemambo whom he considered a down to earth man.

“Very sad that my busy schedule did not permit me to pay my last respects to a longtime friend, Shem Sitakange Ssemambo ‘Kagusunda,’ who passed away on March 21st after battling a long illness,” Bobi Wine wrote on his social media.

He added that Shem revolutionized the beverages industry in Uganda and in so doing, facilitated the sponsoring of many of our music concerts back in the days, thanks to his marketing acumen.

“He was a down-to-earth man who genuinely wished us well and offered selfless advice whenever we needed it. It is such a pity that I was unable to accompany him to his final resting place in Nakawuka town, Wakiso District where he was laid to rest yesterday. I send sincere condolences to his family, and the entertainment industry upon losing one of our foundational pillars. May Shem’s soul rest well.”
