“I decided to use my little situation to create a bigger thing”- Ruger on his eye patch

Ruger during the press conference earlier today

Nigerian artiste Ruger is in Uganda and will be staging a concert tomorrow at Dungu resort in Munyonyo, the same venue that hosted Tems and Omah Ley a year ago. Organized by East Meets West in an event dubbed The Big Brunch, this is going to be Ruger’s first concert in Uganda and he’s so excited to be here. Just like most foreign artistes.

Besides his Dior and Bounce songs, the 22-year-old is famed for his pink hair and eye patch and when asked about the patch, he said he has an eye defect.

“I decided to use this little situation to create a bigger thing. I always say you cannot create a situation you find yourself in but you can control the reaction towards that situation so the eye-patch is my reaction towards that situation,” he said during a press conference earlier today at Speke resort Munyonyo.

Besides that, Michael Adebayo, real names said that one of the things he knows about Uganda is that the people know good music. “I was taught tuli wawelu and something I know about Uganda is that you love good music and I will always say good music is a genre on its own and with Uganda you don’t have to do too much and I promise I’m going to give you too much and a rugged performance.”

Ruger is going to be performing tomorrow for a fee of shs100,000 and will be sharing the stage with Azawi among other selected Ugandan artistes.
