The last Ugandan beauty contestant to make headlines was Quinn Abenakyo who became the first Ugandan to become Miss World Africa. To make it even better this time round, the ministry of Tourism is making it possible for the reigning Miss Uganda to leave in a sane state for the 70th Miss World Beauty pageant slated to take place in Puerto Rico.
Uganda will be represented by 26-year-old Elizabeth Bagaya, who was the first runner up in the last pageant after the reigning Miss Uganda 2020/2021 Oliver Nakakande opted to go for her studies in Dubai, UAE.
Being among the top contenders for Miss World Africa by the bookmakers, the Tourism ministry has decided to send her off with a four-day getaway to Lake Mburo, Igongo and Gahiza Island.
Glad to have flagged off Miss Uganda Elizabeth Bagaya for her homecoming tour of @FortPortalCity1 this morning. She will be representing Uganda @missworld in Puerto Rico. We shall support her to make our country shine on a world stage. Thnx @IsaiahRwanye & @mugarra. pic.twitter.com/84fv1nh63X

She will also visit Fort Portal this weekend, going to Kabarole Crater Lakes, Sempaya Hot Springs, Mabere ga Nyinamwiru, Kyeganywa Hilltop, Karuzika Palace and then pass by Chimpundu Lodge in Kibaale National Park before she heads to Puerto Rico.
“Miss Abenakyo did so brilliantly that we got to host the Miss World team here. Now we want to make sure the world notices that we not only have beautiful and intelligent girls, but also the best when it comes to tourism attractions,” said State Tourism minister Mugarra Martin Bahenduka.
