Bars may still be under lockdown, but that has not stopped creatives from thinking outside the box – business must go on!
On Friday was one of those days when singer Azawi took down the house as she headlined the “Black shines Brightest” virtual experience at a BrightHouse on Naguru hill.
Black Shines Brightest is a campaign celebrating individuals coming together, fizzing with optimism, creativity, and potential across the continent.
Azawi kicked off her performance with her hit song “Repeat It” followed by “Lofit”, “Quinimino”, and climaxed it with her 2021 hit single “My Year”. She was followed on stage by Caesarous and Dre Cali.
“This new campaign will see Guinness at the beating heart of Ugandan culture by championing new talent and all those people making waves in our society,” said Elizabeth Mutamuliza, the UBL Guinness brand manager.
The “Black shines Brightest” campaign is being brought to life by BrightHouse bars popping up across the continent. In Uganda, there will be virtual BrightHouse experiences to promote safe socialising and besides Azawi, others who will be part of the experience is video director Sasha Vybz as well as Malaika Nyanzi, an award-winning actress and media personality.
Across the continent, the campaign has Ghanaian choreographer Incredible Zigi, Nigerian artiste Fireboy, who is leading the way with his unique Afro-life music, among others.
