USPA President and KFM sports presenter Patrick Kanyomozi has been voted the new president of Ugandans on Twitter, replacing AIGP Asan Kasingye who has been in that position for the past two years.
Patrick Kanyomozi was in a landslide victory with 69% and he beat fellow journalists Patrick Mukasa who got 11%, Methia Lydia got 9% and businessman and politician Paul Owori got 11%.
In his congratulatory message to Kanyomozi, the outgoing president Asan Kasingye is optimistic that Kanyomozi is going to do a very good job.
“Hongera @PatriqKanyomozi on ur election as our next #UOTPresident. Being succeeded by u gives me pleasure. I know ur leadership capabilities & commitment to noble causes. Without any doubt, I know u will treat us with respect irrespective of our different opinions. Blessings,” he tweeted.
Adding that whoever was receiving some lockdown support from him as the UOT President, Kanyomozi will be taking on the responsibility going forward as the new President.
When Kanyomozi asked him if he will be receiving a gun as well for his new role, the Assistant Inspector General of Police said that that is impossible but he handed in over peacefully and pledged to rally behind him in steering them to shape public opinion for the development of the country.
“My last piece of advice, if you have anyone blocked, unblock and start from a new lease of life. Tolerate malicious criticism.
