Eddy Kenzo says he was suicidal in Ivory Coast

Remember how we laughed at Eddy Kenzo while he was stuck in Ivory Coast at the peak of Covid-19 lockdown last year? Well, it looks like it is not funny anymore. Recently, the “Weekend” singer came out and admitted to wanting to kill himself while in Ivory Coast and this was because of depression.

“I was depressed, I had run out of money, I didn’t have anyone to turn to yet I was getting a lot of backlash back at home. I reached a point of wanting to kill myself,” Kenzo said during his album listening party at Fairway Hotel.

He was thankful to those that persisted in communicating with him throughout that period. “I thank Bebe Cool for checking on me yet we were not on good terms at the time. His support, alongside from other artistes kept me going.”
