Song writer Blackskin to sue artiste for using his song without consent

Blackskin

Artistes are not earning much as they used to but the situation is worse for song writers who you would believe survive on musicians. So you would probably understand when one of Uganda’s biggest song writer Blackskin decides to sue someone for using his work without any payment.

Blackskin is going to sue an upcoming artiste known as Sammy Bwoy who he claims sings his song titled ‘Njagala Kulaba’ without his consent.  Sammy however refuted the claims while appearing on Spark TV saying that he had paid the writer for the song.

“How can this guy sing a song that I wrote without my consent and go on TV say that he paid me when I don’t even know him,” Blackskin said.

Blackskin further added that he had never taken any artiste and this will be the first one. Blackskin real names Fredrick Senyonga is the brains behind songs like ‘Tukikolemu’ and ‘Ebaluwa’ by the late Ak47 , ‘Tunywe’, ‘Akuuse’, ‘Ndi wanjawulo’ and ‘Muwe’ by Sheeba, ‘Embuzzi zakutudde’ and ‘Ampalana’ by Gravity omutujju, ‘Katono’ and ‘Up and Whine’ by Bebe Cool as well as ‘Tatizo’ by Chameleone among others.
