Gov’t to lift ban on music events soon – Balaam

Events promoter Balaam Barugahara

The government is set to relax restrictions that had been imposed on the arts and culture sector over a year ago owing to the Covid-19 pandemic that continues to establish its footholds in the country.

According to Events promoter Balaam Barugahara while appearing on Spark TV earlier today gave the entertainment industry a ray of hope when he said events would be opening soon.

“The good news I have for you artistes, promoters is that your “Jaja” (President Museveni) has heard your pleas and anytime he will lift the ban on events. They will however happen scientifically while putting the Ministry of Health guidelines in practice,” Balaam said.

Even if he didn’t mention when exactly this would happen, he further noted that they have been pushing for the opening for a while and the president will announce the lift anytime.

Ragga Dee however said that the government wanted to open the industry when their relief package is read.

“If you are begging for bars to open but it can’t happen without the stimulus package, you are not serious because you have no starting point. That’s why we asked for this package to help us kick start our businesses,” Ragga Dee said.
