Dre Cali for UG Global online show

The last presidential address had given entertainment hope that maybe the president would ease the lockdown on events but like many of the addresses he has done before, the industry is still under lockdown. With this, Ugandan entertainers have resorted to getting gigs in countries where entertainment is not under lockdown and among those who have been booked to perform on Easter is Dre Cali.

The Mpaka Records artiste will be performing at the online concert dubbed UG Global which is set to be the first ever virtual concert featuring Ugandan-foreign based artistes from different countries courtesy of Canadian company Gisha Production Inc.

From what we have learnt, comedian Alex Muhangi will be the official host of this particular show which will also have four performers from the UK, Canada and Uganda. Gisha Inc CEO cum Afro-Folk soul musician Gloria Gift Nankunda leads the pack.

Bettina Tumuhaise, the Gisha Inc. brand and marketing manager told us that the UG Global show will be a quarterly affair. “We want to celebrate the Ugandan entertainers and introduce them to other Ugandans in different parts of the world,” she said.

The show will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube on Good Friday.
