Eddy Kenzo on why his forthcoming album has few songs

Eddy Kenzo

Singer Eddy Kenzo has shared details of his upcoming album. The ‘Tweyagale’ hitmaker noted that the yet-to-be-released album will have only 12 songs.

Compared to his previous albums, these are very few songs and according to Kenzo, the reason for the number of songs on this new album is to ensure that all of them get massive airplay and streams online.

The singer feels that the last album that he released in 2018 dubbed ‘Roots’ wasn’t properly consumed by fans because it had 20 songs and believes having fewer songs will improve the level of consumption.

“I have been putting a lot of songs on an album and so some of these songs go unnoticed. Now I only want to release 12 songs so that I get 12 massive hits. Previously I had over 20-30 songs on an album and people only consumed about five. ‘I want all the songs on my album to get equal airplay something that last happened on Maddox’s Namagembe’’ album where all the songs were hits,” Eddy Kenzo said.

Eddy Kenzo further noted that he’ll be soon announcing the official album release date and venue for the launch.

Meanwhile, the renowned artiste was crowned Artiste of the Year by Galaxy FM for his viral song ‘Tweyagale’ released in early 2020. According to the station, the Big Talent Boss won the accolade because his song topped their Top 20 countdown for a total of 31 weeks.
