Five years back, Herbert Habib Shonga and Dorothy Shonga were arguably the best couple in town. Most couples wanted to be like them. They owned a chain of businesses including Space Lounge on Jinja road.
They were literally the talk of town until rumors started flying around that their relationship was in a mess after Herbert cheated on her with one of the club employees.
Before we knew it, more rumors came in that he had now settled with artist Sasha Brighton before making an appearance in her video and then moments from events where the duo were holding hands and merry making.
Meanwhile, no information was coming in from Dorothy who had at the time decided to go to Malawi with their three kids.
On Valentine’s Day, Herbert posted on his social media and wished Dorothy a Happy Valentine’s Day and also posted pics of her with another man.
“Happy Valentine’s Day my dia Dorothy and Patrick. As a father to your kids, I will never wish you bad in life but rather just happiness. And if it’s him that brings happiness to you, who am I to block your happiness,” reads part of the post.
Shonga further advised his successor to always take good care of the mother of his kids and also fix the guitar before she notices.
“My dear Patrick please take good care of my princess Elizabeth Shonga, she is too fragile and when her guitar gets broken fix it as first thing in the morning. Enjoy your Valentine’s day my power couple.”
In her reply to Herbert, Dorothy reminisced about their 16 year journey as a couple and also shared a video of their wedding and how he has contributed to what she is today.
“Wish u the best in life too my dear! 16 years with u made me what I am today. Today I look at u as my father/brother that shaped a way for my business life. My prayer, it’s for you to settle down too. For the memories we shared will always be cherished,” Dorothy said.
