On Tuesday, photos of Robert Kyagulanyi’s wife Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi at Entebbe Airport made their way to social media.
The wife of the leading opposition candidate in the recently concluded presidential elections exited the country to join her family in the U.S.A.
This comes after the couple’s kids left the country a week before the elections to go and live with Barbie’s sister. Bobi Wine said he decided to fly the kids out after he received information that his children were in great danger.
He said without evidence that unknown people had been trailing his kids for a few weeks and that was forced to take his children out of the country after he received credible information that there was a plan by his opponents in the ruling party to kidnap them as part of a scheme to coerce him out of the race.
“I received credible information of pending physical attacks on my wife and (the) kidnap of our children,” he said, revealing that friends living out of the country had reached out and offered to host his children until the situation returned to normal
After the elections, Bobi Wine and his wife were held under house arrest for over a week court issued an order for the security personnel to vacate his home in Magere.
On Monday night, Barbie left the country aboard Qatar Airways and she joined her four children and relatives in the USA.
