Solomon Kaweesa joins music industry

He might be the best Luganda news reporter in Uganda currently, but Solomon Kaweesa wants more. The NTV news reporter wants to multi-task and as we write this, he has already become a musician despite not yet securing an Identity card from the Uganda Musicians Association.

As others are busy trying out their trade in Afro, Hip Hop, soul, reggae and dance-hall, the reporter has decided to be part of the gospel genre.

His first single titled ‘Olugendo’ was released a few days back and he features David Kisitu also a gospel musician as well as other buck-female musicians we are yet to identify.

Solomon recently revealed that he has some knowledge about the music industry having been in it ten years ago only that the love for reporting news overpowered the one for music.

He also added that his music is not going to be about financial gains but more of giving back to the needy especially the girls through his organization.

“I figured the job I have will not be able to raise funds for the organization so I decided to use my talent after 10 years. If people appreciate and I’m able to make shows, they will bring money to support charity. The salary we get is not able to support the organization and earn my personal needs.” Solomon told Spark TV in an exclusive interview.
