The High Court sitting in Entebbe has set October 23 to conclude the hearing of the case on the murder of singer Moses Sekibogo, alias Mowzey Radio.
The suspect, Mr Godfrey Wamala, alias Troy, presented two witnesses during the hearing last Saturday. He was represented by defence lawyer, Mr Lenard Kasibante.
Justice Jane Frances Abodo set October 11 for the defence to hand in their final submissions and October 17 for state prosecution to present their submissions.
On October 22, the defence will make a rejoinder in the case and the court will conclude the hearing.
A sombre mood hangover the courtroom as Mr Wamala narrated the events on a fateful day for the first time since his arrest.
The sisters of the late Mowzey Radio broke down in tears.
Mr Wamala told the court that the deceased met him for the first time at De Bar, a hangout in Entebbe, on January 22, 2018 between 4pm and 5pm with his friends Sonko Andrew, George Egesa, Hassan and Saidi in the bar’s parking lot.
“We were conversing normally, Hassan received a call. After the call he notified George that Mowzey had come, who in turn told him to pick him and show him around, leaving us behind,” he said.

“After 10 to 20 minutes, Hassan came back with Radio and they joined us in the parking lot. Radio greeted us and started talking to George and told him to sell the bar to him, which George refused saying his bar is not for sale. He told him to ‘give me a night” and they share the profits, which George said it was reasonable, ‘we shall sit and discuss’,” he said.
Mr Wamala said Radio continued his conversation with Hassan. The musician succumbed to head injuries at Case Hospital in Kampala on February I last year following a brawl at De Bar.
