Bobi’s ghetto remarks about Museveni show his political immaturity, says Bebe Cool

Ugandan reggae and ragga musician Moses Ssali popularly known by his stage name as Bebe Cool has castigated Bobi Wine and questioned his political maturity after the Kyadondo East MP allegedly mocked President Museveni for aligning himself with the Ghetto folks.

“I watched Bobi Wine make demeaning remarks about our president. He said that since the president had gone to the ghetto, he was about to start puffing [marijuana]. Bobi Wine wants to be president but what comes out of his mouth is so embarrassing. He has selfish interests. His reasoning only means he’s too young to lead this country. I advise him to grow up. He should stop being egoistic,” said Bebe Cool, an ardent supporter of President Museveni and his NRM party.

Born Robert Kyagulanyi, the presidential hopeful is said to have made the remarks on Monday after the Buganda Road Court proceedings in a case in which he’s accused of disobeying statutory duty when he allegedly staged unlawful protest against social media and mobile money tax.

When a journalist asked Bobi Wine to comment on Museveni’s visit to the ghetto areas and appointment of his former wing Butcherman as a presidential envoy for ghetto affairs, who has turned Museveni’s biggest critic said the president is in panic.

“Museveni’s visit only serves to energise us. It means he’s feeling our heat. It’s funny at the same time. We welcome him (Museveni) in the ghetto but we (ghetto people) just don’t want bribes from him. We need better leadership, we need our freedom and fairness. Soon, you will see Mr Museveni walking and behaving like the ghetto people,” Bobi Wine is quoted saying.
