Alpha Thierry Ssali was a substitute player on his Futsal Super League debut at the MTN Arena in Lugogo, but he ended up scoring a beauty for last season’s runners-up Park.
The 15-year-old forward, who is also the captain of Proline Reserves, was dominant with deft touches and he took not more than two minutes on the pitch to break a resilient Inter City and score a goal that left the scattered fans jumping in excitement.

“I really enjoyed his game,” Iddi Babu, the captain of Park said. “It is, of course, the beginning for him, so tight games are going to come but scoring gives him confidence and he could be set for making big plays.” Park ended up beating Intercity 5-4 to take an early lead at the top of the log.
Elsewhere, Aidenal coach Erick Kisuze bemoaned lack of concentration as his team lost 4-1 to Aidenal. Having lost top scorer Ronald Ssonko to Paidha Black Angels, Kisuze had many new faces putting up a fight until the last seven minutes when they let in three goals. “We now have must-win games because there are very few teams in the league,” Kisuze said.

Yet the biggest loss was to defending champions Kabowa who fell 3-2 to Mengo City. Kabowa took a 2-0 halftime lead before a late rally saw Mengo City turn the tables.
“I had many new players so they were bound to make mistakes,” Kabowa coach Farouk Makumbi explained.
