Last Friday, we ran Big Trill’s interview and in Sqoop and he said his ‘Parte after parte’ is not only a hit but an anthem. Some thought he was just bragging but last Thursday, people witnessed that indeed the song was an anthem of sorts.
Big Trill was the only one who was booked to perform at the launch of the Highball Tour that happened at La Paroni thanks to the song.
He kicked off his performance with songs like ‘Push harder’, ‘Gideem’ his collaboration with Beenie Gunter and ‘Pretty girls’ and saved the best for last. When ‘Parte after parte’ was played, everyone at the hangout abandoned whatever they were doing and got on their feet. Even staunch Arsenal fans left the Europa match to come and see the Hip Hop artiste do his thing. Most were seen recording as Big Trill sung ‘parte after parte’ but surprisingly, everyone echoed the chorus as if it was their own song but went silent on the verses.
Meanwhile Selector Jay made the night more interesting. He proved that he is without doubt one of Uganda’s best DJ by taking guests on a musical roller-coaster by playing some of his epic DJ mixes that had many on their feet. With mixes ranging from dance hall, Hip Hop, Lingala and oldies, many abandoned their seats and danced to every song he played.
The deluxe social event is slated to start early next month with singer Sheebah Karungi lined up as the first act for the Johnnie Walker Highball experience in Mbale on October 5th, followed by Gulu on October 26. Fort Portal, Mbarara and Masaka are the other towns lined up for the ultimate Highball experience.
