On Monday, Balaam Barugahara came out in a video clip and said that Jackie Chandiru needs financial help as she starts her journey to recovery. The events promoter further stated that Jackie needs between shs1.8million to shs2.5million for her medical treatment and went ahead to call on the general public to assist the musician by sending money to Pr Wilson Bugembe.
This however seems not to have gone down well with Jackie’s family because her sister known as Cynthia Dezu came out with a post disregarding Balaam’s gesture saying that they don’t need any financial help because Jackie is receiving the right treatment.
“Dear people of God and especially the people of West Nile, we have seen and observed a video of our own family member Jackie Chandiru Eyaa with one man who is allegedly asking for money from public to treat Jackie! Kindly be informed that, Jackie Chandiru is alive, under both medical and rehabilitation care by the family due to her state and the family has all along been respectful of her privacy contrary to the ongoing stories about her,” reads part of the post.
She further adds that Jackie is undergoing medical and psycho-social treatment in a reputable rehabilitation facility known by the family and has not abrogated that responsibility to any one as of now regardless of circumstances and the family requests utmost prayers to enable her get to her feet as a promising lady.
“The family wishes to caution the public against whoever calls for help, financial contribution in the name Jackie Chandiru as seen on video being circulated without consulting, informing or even courtesy Goodwill to the family. We consider such call for soliciting public money as ill intentioned, dubious, fraudulent and totally improper with greater aim of damaging the reputation of both the patient and the family at this moment.”
Cynthia therefore requests restraint from those engaged in such act and do corporate with family and also strongly appreciate those that have stood shoulder to shoulder with them during the many trying moments as this in praying, supporting and guiding where necessary and that the family will update us through proper channels.
